Make a Difference Together in 2026


As we close out the year and look ahead with hope, the Austin Community Family Center (ACFC) proudly celebrates nine years of service to the Austin community. For nearly a decade, ACFC has been a place of support, opportunity, and connection for hundreds of residents on Chicago’s West Side—and our work is far from done.


Each year, ACFC serves individuals and families by providing housing referrals, recreational opportunities, and vital support programs for both adults and youth. This past year alone, our Center has been alive with activity and impact.


Serving the Community—Together


In 2025, ACFC supported the community through a variety of programs and partnerships, including:

  • Pop-Up Refresh events in collaboration with the 15th District Police

  • Monthly Give-A-Way items with Black Women In Solidarity

  • An 8-week Youth Summer Workshop

  • Recreation space for community agencies using our gym

  • Participation in Open House Chicago for the fourth consecutive year

These efforts reflect our continued commitment to meeting people where they are and responding to the evolving needs of West Side residents.


Investing in the Future of the Center


To meet growing demand, ACFC is undergoing much-needed renovations to our facility—affectionately known as the Center—at year-end and into 2026. The spirit of the former Austin YMCA still lives within these walls, carrying forward a legacy of hope, empowerment, and progress.


Some of our programs are newly launched, while others are ready to grow and expand. Our 2026 program priorities include:

  • Job Readiness

  • After-School and Youth Programming

  • Senior Programs

  • English as a Second Language (ESL)

  • Recreational activities for the entire family


These initiatives are designed to strengthen individuals, families, and the broader Austin community.


Our Goal: $50,000 by December 31, 2025


Our goal is to raise $50,000 by December 31, 2025. Your end-of-year, tax-deductible gift—no matter the amount—will help us:

  • Launch a new Resource Hub inside the Center

  • Add fitness equipment to expand wellness offerings

  • Continue our mission to inspire and empower residents of all ages to realize their strengths, possibilities, and potential
